Welcome //

Often, two doctors care for pregnant people – a General Obstetrician/ Gynecologist (OB) and a Perinatologist (Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialist - MFM).  Please do not be worried that you have been referred to an MFM. Your OB may refer you for standard ultrasounds or because they want an expert opinion about a concern or question they have. In some instances they might feel that a condition or risk factor should have specialized care. I am your MFM, and have worked with your OB many times, providing routine ultrasounds and in cases of high-risk pregnancies.  I will work in close consultation with your OB to guide and support you during your pregnancy and delivery, typically beginning in your first trimester.

I will advise and consult with you and your OB throughout your pregnancy and will already be on board in case any complications or risks arise for you or your baby. During the Covid-19 pandemic, we consider every pregnancy high-risk. During my 25-year practice as an MFM specialist, using high-tech equipment and testing to limit and manage potential risks and complications, I have screened over 100,000 pregnancies.

In many ways I am your co-pilot on your journey. I support you physically and emotionally, answering every question you may have. I offer you the most personalized care during this extraordinarily meaningful time in your life, and it is my honor to do so.

With warm regards and best wishes,

Dr. Lori Silver
