I had a high risk pregnancy and had seen a few other doctors before finding Dr. Silver. They all made me feel that having a healthy, full term pregnancy was impossible and that I needed surgery right away. I felt so overwhelmed and anxious about what would happen to my baby before arriving to Dr. Silver. Being a knowledgeable specialist, she put me at ease from my first appointment. She didn’t rush the process and also encouraged me that she didn’t feel the need for me to have surgery. Because of her confidence and professionalism, she made the rest of my pregnancy enjoyable rather than filled with worry. At that first appointment, I remember her saying to positively, “We are going to get you to full term!” And that’s exactly what she did, with a healthy baby and all! No surgery was even necessary thanks to her attention to detail.

Anyone would be lucky to have her as their specialist. My family is beyond grateful for a doctor who was experienced yet also cares about you as an individual. I most likely will be high risk in future pregnancies and I am looking forward to seeing her again as my specialist.
I really think things would be different had I chosen a different Doctor.

“I first arrived at Dr. Silver’s office at 8 weeks pregnant. I’m a high-risk type l diabetic so I spent the next 7 months in her care. During this time, Dr. Silver had both my care and my daughter’s care held at the highest priority. She is straight and to the point and she made me feel safe during a scary period of my life. She most importantly got my daughter and me to the end of pregnancy as healthy and safe as possible. I always felt like she was “in my corner”. I was able to email her after hours and get a response when I felt scared for our health. “I started seeing Dr. Silver at the beginning of my pregnancy due to several high risk factors and we always looked forward to our appointments with her. Dr. Silver’s wonderful traits included thorough assessments of my current health and the health of our baby, excellent bedside manner, and great advice on diet to help our baby thrive. The office is aesthetically pleasing and very organized and the staff is extremely helpful. She knew our baby’s gender from the first appointment and managed to keep it a secret till birth (which was what we wanted). Towards the end of our pregnancy we saw her several times a week and we brought large groups of visiting family members with us and she was eager to accommodate us all. We had a very successful birth and are the proud parents of a very healthy baby. We owe a lot of that to the help of Dr. Silver. “I’ve been seeing Lori since about 11 weeks when I had a bad bleeding episode. Turns out I had a Sub Choroinic Hematoma and my awesome OB Dr Ghozland got me in to see her to calm my worry that day. We continued to see her for the hematoma monitoring as well as the big scans like Nuchal & Anatomy and were about to be released till much further on when I got diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes so back to bi-weekly’s with Lori. I look forward to her appointments she is quick in a non rushed kind of way just really knows her stuff. Always takes time to chat post appointments to go over any questions and generally keeps you calm when things get stressful. I wish I didn’t have to see a MFM doc but I’m so glad we were referred to her!”

“Dr. Silver moved to Santa Monica, and I followed her for my next pregnancy even though her old office was right up the street from me. She is THAT good.

In my routine 19 week scan, Dr. Silver found a very serious heart defect in my baby. I am healthy and had an otherwise very healthy and comfortable pregnancy, so this was a shock. My husband and I both cried during that appointment, but she remained compassionate (and not awkward), and gave us the facts. She referred us to a cardiologist and supported our decision to get a second opinion with another cardiology team. We went on to have almost biweekly appointments between the OB, different cardiologists, and Dr. Silver, so we worked with several different doctors throughout the second half of my pregnancy. Dr. Silver was literally one of the best doctors on my entire team.

Unfortunately, my son passed away at a week old. With my next pregnancy, I contacted Dr. Silver for an OB referral and am seeing her again as my MFM specialist. I wholeheartedly trust her skill as a doctor and her professional opinions and suggestions, and I appreciate her ability to be matter of fact with bad news while remaining compassionate. Doctors are humans, too, and it’s nice to see they have emotion in sad situations. I’d give more than 5 stars if I could.”

“I have had the BEST experience with Dr. Silver who has moved practices to Santa Monica... I FOLLOWED her there even though her office used to be 5 minutes away from my house and now I have to leave an hour early to get there.
Here’s WHY: I had a history of my water breaking early twice before the first time my son was born at 34 weeks and is healthy but the 2nd time my water broke at 22 weeks and my daughter passed away after living an hour after in my arms ( I had a different MFM who was HORRIBLE!!!) so my biggest concern when I got pregnant again and having a rare surgical procedure to help me in future pregnancies was finding a great MFM and I was referred to Dr. Silver.

She was SO compassionate about my loss, she spent extra time with me to make me feel comfortable because being pregnant was just about the scariest thing ever now, She is so supportive of the surgery I had to have an abdominal cerclage placed pre-pregnancy and makes me feel like we are in this together and actually used that term. I feel like I can call her whenever about anything and she goes above and beyond to put me at ease and so far she has gotten me almost to term! as I am still pregnant. I would recommend her in the utmost! you really don’t find MFM’s like her and I feel just so fortunate to have found her and I will feel sad when I don’t have appointments with her anymore. If I could give her 10 stars I would, and she would deserve them.”
